Is Hair Transplant The Only Solution?
No. Hair transplant is usually the best and preferred solution. It gives you your own permanent growing hair. No hair pieces, no glue, no lotions and no medication for life. Propecia and Rogaine are partially successful in some individuals but certainly not all; also they have to be used continually for a lifetime. Furthermore, if they do show some effectiveness it is usually just delaying hair loss in the crown region only. They do not regrow hair from dead follicles.
How Long Does It Take?
This depends on the number of grafts done. Usually a transplant session takes about 4 to 4 1/2 hours.
How Many Visits Will I Need?
This depends on the area of baldness. Some patients need just one surgery, others up to three. Hair transplantation is done in sessions.
Is It Painful?
There is some discomfort for a few days following hair transplantation, but most patients consider it rather mild and readily controlled with standard pain medication.
Do Hair Transplant Grafts Always Take?
A lot depends on how the grafts are handled and treated in their preparation. If the procedure is done properly, I have never seen the hairs not grow. It depends on proper technique.
